““Seeing Without Seeing,” Distress + Imperfection. The piece rewards someone for looking deeper inward rather than showing everything on the surface. Each leg is torched steel, heated until the surface shifts color on its own — no two the same, no repeat pass. Look straight down and the cavity opens into a mirrored floor, doubling the burn back at itself. A blackened metal band runs the full edge profile of the top, holding rift-sawn White Oak between two lines of steel — one at the rim, one at the floor of each leg. Most tables end at the surface. This one keeps going.
